| Students of Thai Phien Primary School (Ea Kao Ward) learn about brocade products in a local educational activity. |
According to Ms. Krong Ai Huong Lan, Deputy Head of the General Education Department (Department of Education and Training), the local education program ensures to provide students with a deep and multi-dimensional view of the culture, history, geography, politics , economy and society of the province. The combination of local education documents from the two previous provinces will provide a comprehensive lens, surpassing administrative boundaries to move towards the development and integration of a larger economic and cultural region. In particular, the local education content at each level has different forms of expression suitable for the age and amount of knowledge that students can receive; in which, high school level requires a deep dive into diverse cultural identities, from gong culture, traditional wood carving to recognizing the development of literature and art through historical periods. In the fields of geography and economics, the program creates a bridge between local knowledge and career orientation for students… The development of educational plans in schools must transform from rough, complex documents into a detailed action program for each subject but still demonstrate the continuity between the selected topics, from traditional to modern, from the Eastern region to the Western region of the province.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the content of local education is basic or current issues about culture, history, geography, economy, society, environment, career orientation... of the locality to equip students with knowledge about the place of residence, fostering students' love for their homeland, awareness of learning and applying what they have learned to contribute to solving the problems of their homeland. At the primary level, the content of local education is integrated with experiential activities; at the secondary and high school levels, the content of local education has the same position as other subjects with a duration of 35 periods/class/school year. |
Following the direction of the education sector, schools have flexibly implemented appropriate vocational education content according to each subject's content and topic.
Thai Phien Primary School (Ea Kao Ward) has just organized a vocational education seminar on “Brocade weaving of the Ede people - Central Highlands”. During the lesson, students learned about brocade weaving; explored patterns, colors and experienced creativity with brocade through specific activities (games, group activities) to gradually form ideas to preserve and promote the traditional brocade weaving profession.
Ms. H'Nao H'Đơk, homeroom teacher of class 2D, shared that the lesson was taught in a practical way, with teaching aids that were real products, and applied active teaching methods, so the students were very excited. These will be beautiful images that integrate tradition (represented by brocade) and modernity (interaction through videos about brocade); helping students gain certain knowledge about the beauty and traditional culture of the Ede people.
Mr. Nguyen Bao Toan, Vice Principal of Nguyen Van Linh High School (Hoa Hiep Ward) said that the basic GDDP documents ensure the harmony of information between the two sets of documents previously approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. With this new document, the school's students have access to new knowledge; including many unique contents such as: Central Highlands Literature, Central Highlands music, economics from industrial crops (coffee, pepper, rubber...), coffee culture, Central Highlands cuisine... The school also encourages teachers to actively apply active teaching methods (teaching through videos, using real products, group discussions...) so that students can access new knowledge in a systematic and effective way.
