The Department of Agriculture and Environment performs advisory functions, assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management in 18 fields; has 35 affiliated units, with 491 civil servants and 727 employees.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the province's agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors will develop rapidly in a high-quality and sustainable direction. The average growth rate will reach 5.24% per year; the proportion in the province's GRDP will reach about 34%; the total export value will reach nearly 9 billion USD.

National target programs are being implemented with attention: the whole province has 26/88 communes meeting new rural standards; the poverty rate is expected to decrease to 2.08% by the end of 2025 (down 3% compared to the beginning of the year); 100% of the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been completed, with 8,915 houses.

Regarding the field of natural resources and environment: regarding the results of the "90-day campaign to enrich and clean up the land database", the industry has so far completed creating identification codes for 3.6 million land plots; reviewed and cross-checked information of 2.52 million land plots with the national population database, of which 1.46 million plots (accounting for 57%) meet "clean" standards.

Land management also focuses on removing obstacles for investment projects and making land use plans for areas recovered from agricultural and forestry companies.

Overall, the environment of the whole province is well ensured and controlled, although there are still some local pollution points in coastal aquaculture areas and concentrated livestock farming areas...

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment also reported on the difficulties and obstacles of the industry in the process of implementing two-level government, especially the shortcomings in mechanisms and policies related to land, forestry and minerals.

The entire industry is also experiencing a local shortage of human resources after 324 civil servants, public employees, and workers retired or quit their jobs, causing great pressure in performing tasks with a large workload and a very large management area.

In addition, production is still small and fragmented; livestock diseases are complicated; climate change, extreme weather, especially storm No. 13, have caused heavy damage to the locality...

In his speech, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Agriculture and Environment in carrying out socio -economic development tasks. At the same time, review the situation of the sector's cadres in communes and wards and report directly to the Provincial Party Standing Committee to have appropriate solutions, ensuring human resources to carry out tasks in the fields of agriculture and environment at the grassroots level; propose outstanding policies to attract investment in the field and create maximum conditions for deep processing projects, high-tech agriculture, etc.
