At the CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025, U22 Vietnam will meet U22 China, U22 Uzbekistan and U22 Korea at 6:35 p.m. on November 12 , 2:30 p.m. on November 15 and 2:30 p.m. on November 18 , Vietnam time.
This is the third consecutive time that U22 Vietnam has been invited to participate in the prestigious tournament organized by the Chinese Football Association (CFA), after the times in September 2024 and March 2025.
In the most recent participation, under the leadership of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, U22 Vietnam achieved an undefeated record (tied U22 Korea 1-1, drew U22 Uzbekistan 0-0 and drew host U22 China 1-1), thereby winning third place overall. Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament by the organizing committee.
In the 2024 tournament, U22 Vietnam lost to U22 China 1-2, lost to U22 Uzbekistan 0-2, and beat U22 Malaysia 2-1 to win third place.
Not only is it the result of the Memorandum of Understanding on football development cooperation signed between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Chinese Football Association (CFA), continuing to participate in the CFA Team China Panda Cup is also an affirmation of the prestige, professional capacity and stable performance of the Vietnam U22 team on the international stage.
The CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025 is considered an important stepping stone for the participating teams towards the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals. For U22 Vietnam, this is also the last quality international competition, helping the coaching staff complete the squad, test personnel and tactics before the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will gather again at the same time as the national team's training session during FIFA Days in November. In the training session last October, U22 Vietnam under the leadership of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh lost 2 matches against Qatar.
