There is a "combat-ready" U22 Vietnam

With the force that Coach Kim Sang Sik currently possesses, it is clear that U22 Vietnam is no longer at the point of having to "pick up" soldiers or worry about playing experience. Because currently, there is more than one squad of U22 players who are playing a key role or regularly playing in the V-League.

The names Trung Kien, Dinh Bac, Van Khang, Hieu Minh, Nhat Minh, Xuan Tien, Nguyen Hoang, Quoc Viet… are no longer simply "young players" like before. All are in good form, and are important factors in the way their home club plays.

When put on the scale of comparison, this U22 generation of Vietnam is clearly more combative than its opponents in the region in terms of both experience and competitive spirit. Of course, with such a force, the goal of regaining the SEA Games 33 gold medal for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team is certainly not too far-fetched.

Waiting for Mr. Kim Sang Sik's change

U22 Vietnam possesses a force with depth, experience and class, which is indisputable. But looking back at Coach Kim Sang Sik's journey with Vietnamese football in general, and the U23 (U22) level in particular, there is a big problem.

In terms of achievements, the Korean strategist is still doing well by always completing the goals set from the U23 Southeast Asian tournament, U23 Asian qualifiers...

To give fans hope for SEA Games 33, Coach Kim Sang Sik will help his team play more brilliantly and explosively.

However, there is a clear feeling that the teams under Kim Sang Sik, whether the Vietnamese team or U23, have not yet reached their full potential or met expectations.

This reveals a paradox: these young players are playing explosively, creatively and confidently in the V-League, but when called up to the national team, they are somewhat constrained to a playing style that is too safe, cautious and sometimes deadlocked.

Because of this, U23 Vietnam always wins with difficulty against opponents that are not too strong. This is definitely the responsibility of coach Kim Sang Sik more than the players.

Therefore, in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games, in addition to the mandatory goal of winning the gold medal, Coach Kim Sang Sik must help U22 Vietnam to be different and more explosive instead of being too pragmatic as seen throughout the past time.
