According to the announcement of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank), the bank will issue the second batch of VND deposit certificates in 2025.

The total issuance value is 1,000 billion VND, each certificate has a face value of 10 million VND. Customers must purchase at least 100 million VND or more, with larger amounts having to be multiples of 10 million VND. Deposit certificates issued for a minimum of 100 million VND/customer.

Issuance period is from October 20, 2025 to January 20, 2026, or when the full face value is issued before the deadline. The deposit certificate buyers are organizations and individuals nationwide.

The terms of the deposit certificates are 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months and 18 months with the following bank interest rates applied to customers receiving interest at the end of the term:

Interest rate for 6-month term deposits is 6%/year (monthly interest 5.92%/year); 9-month term is 6.3%/year (monthly interest 6.17%/year); 12-month term is 6.4%/year (monthly interest 6.21%/year); 15-month term is 6.5%/year (monthly interest 6.26%/year).

Nam A Bank's highest listed interest rate for certificates of deposit is up to 6.7%/year for an 18-month term with interest paid at the end of the term, while the interest rate for customers receiving interest monthly is also up to 6.4%/year.

The interest rate for the second batch of Nam A Bank's deposit certificates is still lower than the interest rate for the first batch of deposit certificates announced by this bank last September. However, the term of the first batch of deposit certificates is up to 6 years and there is only one term.

Previously, Nam A Bank issued the first batch of long-term deposit certificates (6-year term) in 2025 to supplement Tier 2 capital and restructure mobilized capital sources. The issuance period is from September 13 to December 13, 2025, or when the full face value is issued.

Notably, Nam A Bank announced the method of calculating interest rates on deposit certificates = (equal to) the listed interest rate of regular savings deposits applied to deposits of VND 500 billion or more, 24-month term, the method of paying interest at the end of the term is still in effect on the first day of the interest rate period + (plus) a margin of 1%/year.

According to the regular 24-month savings interest rate table currently listed by Nam A Bank for deposits of 500 million VND or more, the applicable interest rate is 6%/year.

Thus, Nam A Bank's deposit certificate interest rate reaches 7%/year, much higher than the average savings interest rate listed by banks.

According to Nam A Bank's announcement, individual customers must maintain a non-term deposit account with a minimum balance equal to 50% of the face value of the certificate they intend to purchase, and commit to maintaining this balance for 6 months from the date of issue. Each deposit certificate is linked to a non-term savings account.

Institutional customers need to maintain an average balance of non-term deposits for 6 consecutive months of at least 20% of the face value of the certificate intended to be purchased.
