On May 22, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Hiep led a working delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province to monitor the results of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tri Ton district. Secretary of the Tri Ton District Party Committee Lam Thanh Si and Vice Chairman of the Tri Ton District People's Committee Tran Minh Giang received and worked with the delegation.

The delegation inspected the order, procedures, and process of selecting beneficiaries; the progress of implementation, construction, and repair of houses; the work of receiving, managing, disbursing, and using funds; the implementation of procedures, documents, and records for payment and settlement of construction and repair costs; difficulties, problems, and recommendations of localities; the inspection and supervision work of the Steering Committees at district and commune levels in the past time...

The delegation worked with the People's Committee of Tri Ton district and communes and towns.

Working with Tri Ton district and other localities, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Hiep highly appreciated the drastic and determined participation of the entire political system, from the district to the communes and towns of Tri Ton district. Although it is the locality with the largest number of houses built and repaired in the province, up to this point, there are only 17 unfinished houses. The Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested Tri Ton district to continue to urge and strive to complete all houses by the end of May. In addition, continue to adjust and supplement settlement documents. At the same time, select and make a list of individuals and groups to be rewarded at the provincial and central levels...

Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Tri Ton district was approved to build and repair 1,336 houses (1,293 new houses, 43 repaired houses). Of which, the group of people with revolutionary contributions (group 1) is 39 houses; the group of poor and near-poor households under national target programs (group 2) is 591 houses; the group of other poor and near-poor households (group 3) is 706 houses. To date, 1,319 houses have been completed, and 17 are under construction, in Le Tri, Vinh Phuoc, O Lam, Chau Lang communes, and Co To town.

The total cost of the program is over 79.7 billion VND. Of which, nearly 67.12 billion VND has been disbursed. The disbursement method is that when households start building their houses, they will receive 70% of the support fund, and after completion, they will receive the remaining 30%.
