Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in May 2025

BBK - On the afternoon of May 26, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province held a regular meeting to assess the socio-economic development situation, ensuring national defense and security in May and the first 5 months of 2025; and propose key tasks and solutions in the coming time. Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee chaired the meeting.

The report at the meeting showed that the socio -economic situation in May had positive progress. Spring crop production basically met the plan; livestock industry was stable, disease control was good; afforestation reached over 50% of the yearly plan. Budget revenue was over 368 billion VND, up 17% over the same period last year. Industrial production value was estimated at 164 billion VND; public investment disbursement reached 978.78 billion VND (up 11 percentage points over the same period). Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at nearly 1,000 billion VND. Tourism continued to grow strongly with 205,000 visitors in the month, bringing the total number of visitors in the first 5 months of the year to over 731,000...

Speaking at the discussion, delegates attending the meeting said that, besides the achieved results, there are still limitations and difficulties such as: Disbursement of public investment and capital for national target programs is still slow; some industrial production indicators tend to decrease slightly compared to the previous month; natural disasters in the month caused significant damage to people and property in some localities...

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dang Binh emphasized that in the context that the whole province is implementing the arrangement of administrative units at all levels, it is absolutely necessary to not let loose management and not let work be interrupted. He requested localities to focus highly on agricultural production; speed up the progress of public investment projects, especially key projects and national target programs; strengthen trade promotion, promote local products, promote tourism, and improve the investment and business environment.

In preparation for the mid-2025 Provincial People's Council Session, the Session gave opinions on important contents, such as: Submission on the list of works and projects that need to change the purpose of using rice-growing land, protective forest land and production forest land in 2025; Submission on the draft Resolution adjusting the 2024 regular expenditure estimates that have been transferred to 2025 of the National Target Programs; Submission on supplementing the list of projects that must recover land for implementation during the year; Submission on the draft Resolution amending and supplementing regulations related to budget allocation and decentralization of revenue sources and expenditure tasks between budget levels.../.
