UNESCO organizes illustration contest to honor the local identity values ​​of Vietnam

The United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with relevant units organized the "Local Quality" illustration contest calling on young artists to honor and spread the beauty of Vietnamese culture through creative illustrations.

According to the Organizing Committee, Vietnamese national culture is a composite picture of many identities, each locality is a separate color. With the desire to gather and spread the unique cultural beauty of each land, the "Local Essence" drawing contest welcomes unique ideas from the visual artist community in many forms such as painting, illustration, design... Each painting is a proud testament, carrying the story of its own "essence", the unique identity of each locality, creating a vibrant, colorful cultural harmony of the Vietnamese people.

From the beautiful natural scenery, the bustling atmosphere of special festivals, to the places marking heroic history. The stories passed down through generations with deep spiritual values, the costume details imbued with customs and traditions. Or simply the unforgettable memories associated with that place. Each painting is a proud testament, carrying the story of the "uniqueness" and unique identity of each land, creating a vibrant, colorful cultural harmony of the Vietnamese people.

The initiative aims to support the Government of Vietnam in optimizing the cross-cutting contributions of culture, including making the most of the opportunities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Vietnam, in line with the National Strategy for Cultural Industries and the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Vision 2030, empowering young creative talents of Vietnam to influence and contribute to the country's sustainable development agenda with innovative ideas and actions.

The contest is part of the Emplement! project initiated by UNESCO, with the participation of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , the young illustrator community Vietnam Local Artist Group and the support of SOVICO Group.

The Organizing Committee accepts entries from May 17 to June 16 here ./.
