VP is a technique that combines the real and virtual worlds in real time, using large LED screens to display virtual scenes right on the set. With new technologies like VP, Vietnam is facing a great opportunity to catch up with the world cinema industry. According to Mr. Hang Minh Loi, founder of Lumination, in just a few years, these technologies can help shorten film production time from 3 years to 1 year, while optimizing investment costs, from millions of USD to only tens of billions of VND.
VP helps reconstruct historical film scenes or settings that no longer exist, through only narratives or museum documents, and combines artificial intelligence (AI) to vividly recreate ancient landscapes. New technology helps the film production process become faster and more efficient. Currently, most Vietnamese film products still use the Vietnamese voice of the Kinh people, while less popular voices of ethnic minorities are at risk of being lost. Building a voice library will expand language resources, support a diverse film industry and contribute to preserving national cultural identity.

| Experts shared at the workshop "Developing the film industry in the new era" within the framework of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival. |
Commenting on the growth rate of Vietnamese cinema, Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Galaxy Group, said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, the domestic film market increased by more than 20% compared to 2019, while many developed countries have only recovered about 60%. In 2024, Vietnamese films accounted for 42% of the market share, and it is expected to reach 62% in 2025. Success in market share and revenue also poses an urgent need to maintain and develop the country's film industry. Lieutenant Colonel, director Dang Thai Huyen, Deputy Director of the People's Army Cinema, commented: The film industry must innovate production methods, take advantage of advanced technology to turn creative ideas into high-quality products, quickly and effectively. VP's greatest strength is expanding the creative range, helping the cinematic frame when the audience enjoys it become more open, recreating problems that we cannot do in reality.
More than a trend, applying new technology is a strategic solution that contributes to improving the quality of works, promoting professionalization and affirming the new position of Vietnamese cinema in the international arena.
