According to MSc.Dr. Truong Minh Dat (Leading expert on Digestion, Respiration and Milk for children, currently working at the Institute of Medical Research), when talking about the best time to take iron, many people think that it should be taken right after waking up, waiting 30 minutes before eating. Many people take iron 30 minutes after eating... This makes experts extremely surprised because these are not the best times to take iron.
MSc. Pharmacist Truong Minh Dat pointed out the golden time to take iron: "We need to take iron 2 hours after eating, in the middle of the morning, for example, if you have breakfast at 7am, you will take it at 9am, then wait at least 2 more hours before eating the next meal."

So, what is the iron dosage according to age or specific subject?
For infants and young children
According to statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO), as of 2011, approximately 300 million children worldwide were anemic. This group of people needs adequate iron supplementation, especially in the first 5 years of life. Specifically:
- Children from 1-3 years old need about 7mg of iron per day.
- Children from 4 to 8 years old need about 10mg of iron per day.
