On the morning of October 6, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized a delegation to visit and wish the Cham people following Brahmanism a Happy Kate New Year 2023 in Tuy Phong and Bac Binh districts.
At the places visited, on behalf of the delegation, Ms. Bo Thi Xuan Linh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee kindly visited and wished the Provincial Council of Brahmin Dignitaries, monks, prestigious people, and cadres of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Phu Lac and Phong Phu communes (Tuy Phong district), Phan Thanh and Phan Hiep communes (Bac Binh district) a happy, warm, and safe Tet holiday.
When hearing information about the socio-economic situation of localities in the first 9 months of the year, the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee was pleased with the efforts of the Cham people in production, investment in their children's education, awareness of environmental sanitation and proactiveness, vigilance in maintaining security and order... contributing to joining hands with the Party Committee and the government to effectively implement the set policy goals, contributing to firmly building the great national unity bloc. Thereby, he hoped that the Cham monks, dignitaries, and prestigious people in the province would continue to be role models spreading good things in the community and mobilizing and propagating people to well implement the Party's policies, State policies and laws, promoting the tradition of national solidarity to build Binh Thuan homeland to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
Kate is the traditional New Year of the Cham community following Brahmanism. This is an occasion for descendants to remember their ancestors and the gods who blessed them with favorable weather and wind for good crops and pray for peace in the village, prosperity and happiness for every family.
