- Since mid-2024, thousands of people from North to South have rushed into the Ame Global model with the promise of changing their lives from a "Taiwanese national treasure" mushroom and earning billions in passive income. But behind the flashy seminars, the exorbitant reward system and successful livestreams is a cleverly constructed multi-level trap. This series of investigative reports traces the first links, exposing the suffocating investigation process of the authorities, revealing the sophisticated tricks and serious consequences that thousands of victims are suffering. This is not only a case, but also a profound warning in the era of digital finance.
PART 1: TRILLION-DOLLAR BAIT – THE BEGINNING OF A TRAP
Amidst the lure of quick riches, Ame Global appears as a dream of a life-changing event: rare products, passive income, and an exorbitant reward policy. Thousands of people, from farmers, civil servants to the elderly, rush in, taking out loans to invest. However, behind the flashy appearance is a cleverly designed system to pick the pockets of the later to pay the earlier. This report will reveal the first links of a carefully constructed financial trap.
In difficult economic times, making money quickly is always attractive. Ame Global Company takes advantage of that to paint a dream. Their model starts with launching the product of Niu Zhang Zhi mushroom - a miracle drug advertised as rare and hard to find, "10 times more valuable than Ganoderma lucidum".
The halo from the seminar and livestream
Bac Son - a peaceful land of Lang Son province, where people are familiar with farming and rural markets. However, in just the last few months of 2024, some families here suddenly got into debt to the bank, many elderly people fell into a state of collapse because of a product with a strange name: Ngưu Chương Chi mushroom.
Mrs. HTT, over 60 years old, retired early due to illness, sat on the porch and recounted in a choked voice: “Last July, I was invited by an acquaintance to attend a conference in Thai Nguyen province. They said this product is a “national treasure of Taiwan”, it can cure cancer, liver, kidney… I only have one kidney left, hearing that moved me. When I got home, I used my saved salary and borrowed more than 300 million from the bank to buy 3 investment shares for me and my son. Each share is nearly 150 million, and then I became a VIP, they said I would have a “lifetime pension” of 30 - 40 million per month. Who would have thought...”.

Mrs. T’s story is not uncommon. In just half a year, thousands of people in many provinces and cities from Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City have participated in a model called Ame Global with the promise of changing their lives through investing in “consumption growth”.
At the seminars, amidst the vibrant sounds and magnificent stage lights, representatives of Ame Global Company constantly emphasized the “golden values” of mushrooms: supporting immunity, detoxifying the liver, even… prolonging life. But what really fascinated the audience were the commission figures: 10% of global revenue per day, maximum income of 25 million/day without having to do anything, just invest once and invite a few relatives to join.

On platforms like TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, a series of livestream clips appear continuously: people in suits talking successfully, images of groups of dozens of people being taken to Taiwan (China) to "visit mushroom farms", hundreds of people participating in tours and tourist routes at home and abroad... All create a splendid cover.
Ame Global Company implements the model of "Growth Consumption": participants open an account on the website www.ameglobal888.com through the referral link. Participants invest 14,850,000 VND to receive a product called "Ngưu Chương Chi mushroom" and are given 1 ID. The Ame Global model operates based on a binary structure - two branches under each person. The system extends to 20 floors.
Participants will receive a 10% commission bonus on total daily global sales (customers can receive up to 1,000 USD, equivalent to 25,000,000 VND) without having to introduce new participants or build a downline system. Participants will also receive a maximum fill commission of up to 20 levels, equivalent to 5% of the total income of the 20 downlines of the participant.
Participants (F0) have 3 direct downlines: F1, F2 and F3. F0, F1, F2, F3 have daily shared consumption income, F0 will receive 50% of F1's shared consumption income, 30% of F2's shared consumption income and 20% of F3's shared consumption income. In addition, participants are also rewarded with some other types of commissions and bonuses based on: income on shared leadership bonus (14%), training center bonus (5.5%), shared leadership bonus is 28%.
On the surface, everyone thinks this is a successful network, but in essence, most of the profits come from the investment of later people paying earlier people, the product only plays a leading role to hide the pyramid-style fraud model.
Behind the flashy lipstick
Through investigation, the police discovered that all of the Oxalis mushroom products sold by Ame Global Company were of unknown origin. At the warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City, the authorities seized 85 cartons containing nearly 15,000 boxes, more than 2,000 jars of various mushrooms, and tens of thousands of labels and processing machines.
The so-called “Taiwanese national treasure mushroom” has not been tested for quality or recognized by any health organization. Even the product declaration documents and business license of WIN ALL Trading Company Limited - representative of Ame Global Vietnam (in Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) all show signs of forgery or legal ambiguity.
Taiwan" Meanwhile, the victims, most of whom have no financial knowledge, are still busy recruiting relatives, acquaintances, and friends to achieve the title of "VIP" or "Senior Leader" in the hope of having "monthly passive income" as promised. According to initial investigation, there were more than 9,000 people directly involved in the multi-level marketing system of Ame Global, including more than 7,000 Vietnamese and more than 2,000 people from Taiwan, China and Malaysia with a total transaction amount of up to thousands of billions of VND. Many people borrowed money from banks, mortgaged their land books, withdrew their savings books... just to "pump capital" into this model. Some cases even sold their houses to invest for the whole family to go up to the VIP line. Some people lost tens of millions, some up to billions. Notably, many of them were retired officials, housewives, and single people - the most vulnerable groups in society. |
At the end of 2024, some people began to complain about not receiving the promised commissions. Some private Facebook groups also went silent. Meanwhile, the core figures of the system gradually withdrew, and members of the Ame Global organization in Vietnam who were Taiwanese (Chinese) also returned home, leaving only vague promises.
This is when the authorities began to expand their surveillance. But for the people, the collapse of Ame Global did not really become clear until early 2025, when IDs were no longer accessible, website accounts were frozen, and customer service hotlines were “unreachable.”

Multi-level marketing is a conditional business, enterprises must register their multi-level marketing activities with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be granted a Certificate. Traders are allowed to conduct multi-level marketing activities and when conducting multi-level marketing activities in the provinces, they must register and are only allowed to organize after receiving written confirmation from the Department of Industry and Trade. However, currently, there are many subjects taking advantage of the multi-level marketing form to organize illegal business (without completing the procedures to request a Certificate of eligibility for multi-level marketing with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and without registering their activities with the Department of Industry and Trade) to defraud and appropriate people's property. Through illegal business, they often exaggerate the product's uses, promise high profits and pressure participants to recruit new people to receive commissions. Faced with that situation, the Department of Industry and Trade has recently issued many documents to direct local authorities, coordinate with functional agencies to continue to strengthen state management of multi-level marketing activities in the whole province, warn against fraudulent activities through illegal multi-level marketing to promptly prevent fraudulent acts, deceiving customers for profit, causing social insecurity and disorder to protect consumer rights. The Ame Global story is not simply a case of fraud. It is a cleverly constructed system, with a beautiful shell, operated by the crowd psychology and the naivety of people who want to improve their lives. What started with a promise of getting rich is now gradually revealing its true nature. In part 2, we will go to the heart of the investigation, where cyber security scouts and investigators quietly untangle each knot in this cross-border network.
