On May 10, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy (BMU) held the 60th Anniversary of International Nursing Day.
At the ceremony, Dr. Luu Viet Tinh - Vice Principal of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy acknowledged the great contributions of the nursing staff in community health care. At the same time, he called on nursing students to constantly strive to study, improve their professional knowledge, practice practical skills and, most importantly, always maintain and promote pure medical ethics.

The seminar program with the theme "The role of nurses in the new era" helps the school's students have many multi-dimensional perspectives on the nursing profession. Dr. Vo Minh Thanh, Director of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, and a number of doctors from hospitals in the province share career development orientations in the context of constantly changing science and technology.
On this occasion, the school awarded prizes to students in the "BMU Nursing Race" competition - an academic and skills playground organized to celebrate the industry's big holiday. In addition, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy signed a cooperation agreement with Dak Lak Employment Service Center, strengthening training - practice links and expanding employment opportunities for students.

In order to pay tribute to generations of nurses and orient the development of the industry in the new era, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital organized many meaningful activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of International Nursing Day (May 12, 1965 - May 12, 2025).
Previously, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (BUH) organized a " Video design contest applying the AIDET/SBAR model in patient care" exclusively for nursing staff from 15 Departments/Offices throughout the hospital.

The teams brought presentations and videos with vivid content and situations; recreating communication, coordination and professional handling in patient care. Thereby, spreading the experience of applying the model to other departments/offices; contributing to creating quality treatment and improving patient satisfaction.
This competition is not only an opportunity to demonstrate professional skills, but also to honor the sense of responsibility, dedication and service attitude of medical professionals.
AIDET & SBAR are two communication models that have been proven to be effective in improving the quality of care and patient safety in the healthcare environment. The model is currently being widely applied domestically and internationally. At BUH, this model is focused on implementing and applying at all steps in the consultation and treatment process.
