"Love You, a Thousand Miles" brings a romantic love story between two young people from two different cultures, and at the same time marks a new step forward in artistic exchange. It is a respectful greeting that Indian cinema sends to Vietnam, a beautiful, poetic and evocative country, through the fresh lens of Bollywood filmmakers.

The film is directed and written by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, co-produced by RFK Studio, Innovations India and 1-All Stars Vietnam, with the support of the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai.

From the start, the film has attracted the attention of experts when it appeared at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, becoming one of the few Asian projects that has received international media attention thanks to its global story and the sparkling, attractive Vietnamese setting.

This is a large-scale and elaborately invested film.

The film was made on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India, both having commemorative significance and expressing a cultural message through which cinema can become a bridge and a means for people of the two countries to understand each other better and come closer together through emotional language.

If the cooperation in education, tourism, or economy ... between the two countries is already widely known, the film "Love in Vietnam" opens a new door, bringing the image of Vietnam into the public life of Indian audiences - the largest film market in the world in terms of the number of films produced and the number of audiences.

"Love in Vietnam" was inspired by the novel "Madonna in a Fur Coat" by Turkish writer Sabahattin Ali - one of the most classic works of Turkish literature, translated into 17 languages and selling tens of millions of copies.

Indian cultural identity will blend with Vietnamese culture.

Exploiting inspiration from a famous literary work brings emotional depth to the film, and at the same time places "Love in Vietnam" in the flow of cinematic works that exploit cultural collisions and the tragedies of love in separation. However, the film does not completely exploit the story of the novel but transforms that spirit, which is the dialogue between two lonely souls, into a new, modern story filled with Asian colors.

Vietnamese audiences are familiar with the brilliant, magical images of Bollywood, where beauty is always pushed to the point of fullness and perfection. Therefore, the Indian team's choice of Vietnam as the setting for a romantic work raises special expectations: How will Vietnam appear through the eyes of filmmakers from a cinema with a distinctive style? The answer is: Vietnam appears heartbreakingly beautiful. "Love in Vietnam" takes the audience through the most impressive destinations: Golden Bridge, My Khe Beach, Hoi An Ancient Town (Da Nang), Da Lat...

The film brings together many actors from India.

With a soft, romantic filming style, imbued with music and dance, the film contributes to promoting the beauty of Vietnam, depicting its identity in a peaceful, delicate, and gentle beauty - the thing that made the character Manav, an Indian boy, moved by Linh as well as by this country.

"Love in Vietnam" revolves around the love story between Manav, the young master of an Indian billionaire family, and Linh, a young Vietnamese artist with passion and personality.

Their love began with a very cinematic moment: Manav saw Linh's painting. From there, like fate, he was drawn into her story. The cultural clashes, initial misunderstandings, and differences in lifestyle only made the story more real.

When love was just blossoming, calculations, family pressure and the limits of reality forced them to part ways. Manav returned to India, while Linh stayed in Vietnam, carrying with them both beautiful and unfinished memories. Eight years later, they met again in an awkward situation: Manav came to Vietnam to organize a 7-day-7-night wedding with his childhood best friend. The reunion revived emotions that seemed to have been forgotten.

The film raises a humane question: Can love overcome time, distance and hurt? The answer is left to the audience, when love becomes the meeting point of two cultures.

The film brings together an impressive cast of Indian-Vietnamese actors. Shantanu Maheshwari (playing Manav) is one of the most influential young faces in Bollywood. Famous from television, winning an international dance competition, making his mark in Gangubai Kathiawadi - a hit that brought him the IIFA Award for Best New Actor. With his romantic demeanor, exquisite acting ability and top dancing skills, Shantanu is expected to be the soul of the film.

The background is elaborately invested.

Kha Ngan (playing Linh) is a Vietnamese actress loved for her pure beauty and delicate emotions, having made her mark in the films: "100 Days With You", "11 Months and 5 Days" and "Our Family Is Unexpectedly Happy". The combination of Kha Ngan and Shantanu promises to bring a love story that is both gentle and fierce, true to the spirit of a cross-cultural love.

With more than 200 members from India coming to Vietnam, the film crew worked in many provinces and cities, and coordinated with Vietnamese artists and crews. This was an opportunity for the two cinemas to learn from each other: the meticulousness and rich emotions of Bollywood meet the youthful, creative spirit of Vietnamese cinema.

The project also opens up a new direction for Vietnam tourism. Bollywood is famous for making movie scenes into dream destinations for millions of global tourists. When "Love in Vietnam" is released during the Christmas and New Year 2026 season, Bollywood's top audiences in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe will be able to admire a beautiful and charming Vietnam - which can have a big effect on Vietnam's tourism and culture.
