According to data recorded at 7:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025, the water level of Dong Nai 5 reservoir reached 287.97 m (near the normal water level of 288 m). The water flow to the reservoir reached 754.41 m³/s, while the machine flow was 288 m³/s and the regulated discharge through the spillway was 478 m³/s, the total water discharge to the downstream was 766 m³/s. Due to the rapid increase in water flow to the reservoir, the reservoir management unit decided to adjust the spillway discharge to ensure the safety of the project.

From 8:30 p.m. on November 19, 2025, Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Company increased the spillway discharge with the following parameters: spillway discharge of 595 m³/s, turbine discharge of 288 m³/s, total water discharge downstream reached 883 m³/s. The Company representative said that depending on the rain situation and the amount of water flowing into the lake, the spillway discharge can continue to be adjusted and will be promptly notified to the authorities.

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Company requested the Civil Defense Committee and local authorities to coordinate in widely disseminating information, especially in downstream areas. Updating and early warnings will help people proactively take necessary preventive measures, minimizing possible damage due to rapid river water level rise.
In Lam Dong province alone, the communes of Bao Lam 5, Kien Duc, Cat Tien, Cat Tien 2, Cat Tien 3, Da Teh, Da Teh 2, Da Teh 3 are warned to be areas at risk of being affected and need to be informed immediately to proactively respond during the time of increased spill discharge.
