Implementing the arrangement of farming areas to help people in the district quickly restore the aquaculture industry due to the impact of storm No. 3, recently all levels and sectors in Van Don district have actively participated in the implementation. Up to this point, Van Don district has assigned 5,500 hectares of marine aquaculture areas to people, an increase of 42% compared to before the storm.
Storm No. 3 caused heavy damage to aquaculture households in Van Don district, with over 1,200 aquaculture facilities destroyed; over 130 ships sunk, broken, missing; damage to over 32,000 tons of aquatic products ready for harvest, total value over 2,280 billion VND.
Based on the approved Project on developing aquaculture in Van Don district to 2030, with a vision to 2040, it is expected that this year Van Don district will hand over the boundary of the sea area of about 7,000 hectares of sea surface to 85 cooperatives with more than 1,000 households to restore aquaculture. The locality has organized meetings, provided registration instructions, publicly posted maps of areas for restoring aquaculture activities, and arranged locations for each specific area.

Up to now, Van Don district has temporarily assigned 57 cooperatives, with a total of 912 members, with a total area of 5,500 hectares of sea farming area, an increase of 42% compared to before the storm. Households have raised oysters on about 1,000 hectares, and have only planted new seeds on 200 hectares. For fish farming, 2,650 fish cages have been restored, reaching 50% compared to before the storm.
Handing over the sea area to local people for aquaculture contributes to quickly restoring the key economic sector and promoting local socio-economy .
