The Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (China) is responsible for supporting businesses of all parties to connect and trade, promoting economic and trade cooperation.


In 1993, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (China) was officially established, serving as an unofficial embassy of Vietnam in Taiwan (China).

The main tasks of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (China) include: Solving issues related to Vietnamese citizens such as: Nationality, marriage, issuing and changing passports and Vietnamese identity cards, notarizing documents (diplomas, certificates, authorizations...), protecting Vietnamese citizens, investing in Vietnam, issuing visas for foreigners entering Vietnam. The official reception place for diplomatic guests of the Office. Solving issues related to commercial activities.

According to statistics from the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA), the total import-export turnover between Vietnam and Taiwan (China) in September 2024 reached more than 1.9 billion USD, an increase of 19.69% over the same period in 2023. Of which, Taiwan (China)'s export turnover to Vietnam reached 1.24 billion USD, an increase of 12.86%; Taiwan (China)'s import turnover from Vietnam reached 663.72 million USD, an increase of 34.95% over the same period in 2023.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the total import-export turnover between Taiwan (China) and Vietnam reached 16.38 billion USD, an increase of 25.81% over the same period last year, of which Taiwan (China)'s export turnover to Vietnam reached 10.52 billion USD, an increase of 23.41%, Taiwan (China)'s import turnover from Vietnam reached 5.85 billion USD, an increase of 30.37% over the same period in 2023.

According to TITA statistics, Vietnam maintained its position as the 8th largest trading partner of Taiwan (China) in the first 9 months of this year, accounting for 2.56% of Taiwan's (China) total foreign trade market share, the 11th largest goods supplier (2.02% market share) and the 8th largest export market of Taiwan (China) (3.01% market share).
