BBC described this unidentified object as being made of metal, cylindrical in shape, about 2.5 m in diameter and 3 m high. Locals accidentally discovered this mysterious object at Green Head beach in Western Australia on July 16.
The mysterious object was found lying on its side, with significant damage at its base, embedded in the ground. Images of it have gone viral on social media in Australia.
Approaching the mysterious object, the authorities were confused, they assessed it could be dangerous and asked people to stay away. "We are coordinating with the military and the Australian space agency to determine the origin of the metal object that washed ashore at Green Head" - police said.

There are various theories about the origin of this mysterious object. Aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas believes it could be a fuel tank from a missile that crashed into the Indian Ocean in the past 12 months.
The Australian space agency said it was likely part of a "space launch vehicle". There was also speculation the mysterious object landed on Green Head beach from an Indian rocket and was toxic.
There is even some speculation that the metal object is part of the MH370 plane, which was carrying 239 passengers and is believed to have disappeared off the coast of Western Australia in 2014.
"This is not any part of the Boeing 777. If it were part of MH370 which went missing 9 years ago, the corrosion would certainly be much more obvious than the object just discovered" - expert Geoffrey Thomas commented and emphasized - "There is no possibility that the mysterious object is part of MH370".
Australian authorities hope to find a serial number or identification number on the mysterious object so they can decode it.
