After the visit to Ho Chi Minh City by Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman - director of Trump International Hung Yen project - on May 19 attracted public attention, Tuoi Tre Online had a conversation with Mr. Dang Thanh Tam - chairman of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC), who joined the visiting delegation.

Mr. Tam said that tomorrow afternoon (May 21), the investor will organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the urban complex, eco-tourism , and Khoai Chau golf course (Hung Yen).

The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by Mr. Eric Trump (son of US President Donald Trump) - currently senior vice president of the Trump Organization, and his wife, Ms. Lara Trump. The delegation will also include Mr. Lawrence Glick and leaders of the Trump Organization.

After the groundbreaking ceremony in Hung Yen , the Trump Organization group will enter Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Tam shared information that previously, Ho Chi Minh City leaders sent an invitation letter to the Trump Organization to visit, explore investment cooperation opportunities, and proposed to the group to build the Trump Tower in Ho Chi Minh City.

Therefore, after attending the groundbreaking ceremony, the delegation will go to Ho Chi Minh City on May 22 to visit Ho Chi Minh City, learn about culture, history, tourism as well as economic potential.

Before the visit of the Trump Organization delegation, on the afternoon of May 19, Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman - project director of Trump International Hung Yen - along with Mr. Dang Thanh Tam and members of the delegation came to work with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

6 months to complete the procedures to start construction

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed the Prime Minister's decision approving the investment policy of the Khoai Chau Golf Course, Ecotourism and Urban Complex Project (Hung Yen). The total investment capital of the project is VND 39,787 billion (equivalent to USD 1.533 billion), implemented from the second quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2029, with an operating period of 50 years.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance and the People's Committee of Hung Yen province sent a report to the Prime Minister on approving the investment policy of the above complex.

The project is developed by Hung Yen Investment and Development Corporation (a subsidiary of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation) in coordination with partners, funds in the US. On September 25, 2024, the People's Committee of Hung Yen province signed a memorandum of understanding in the US with a consortium of investors selected by the Trump Organization to develop this project.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tam said that the licensing process for this project was very fast, taking only 6 months to get to the groundbreaking stage, much faster than other projects.

At a working session with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in March 2025, Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman - project director of Trump International Hung Yen, wished the project to be implemented as quickly as possible, completed in the next 2 years to serve the APEC 2027 occasion, becoming the leading golf course in Vietnam and a globally famous golf destination.

He also said that the company is researching investment in other projects and fields in Vietnam and promoting visits by the Trump Group's leadership to Vietnam, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries and building a high-quality image of Vietnam to the world and the US government.
