VinFast and 12 banks and financial institutions support Hanoi residents to switch to electric vehicles

(Dan Tri) - On July 24, VinFast signed a cooperation agreement with 12 major banks and financial institutions to support Hanoi residents in switching from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles.

The alliance of banks and major financial partners cooperating with VinFast to support the people of the capital in green transformation includes: Vietcombank, Vietinbank, BIDV , MBB, Techcombank, VPBank, HDBank, Sacombank, TPBank, MSB, Lotte Finance, Shinhan Finance. These are all pioneers in green transformation and are strongly promoting green capital for sustainable development programs, aiming for green growth.

The signing ceremony of cooperation between 12 major banks and financial institutions with VinFast is a special milestone showing the response and solidarity of the business community with the Government's policy and the spirit of accompanying and supporting the people.

According to the cooperation agreement, VinFast and banks will jointly develop attractive loan packages and preferential financial solutions, with flexible and simple conditions and procedures to help people easily switch to electric vehicles.

For customers who buy VinFast electric cars and register Hanoi license plates, banks will support installment loans of up to 70-80% of the car price for a maximum period of up to 8 years (according to each bank's own policy). Customers will receive an additional 3% interest rate/year from VinFast and the bank compared to the normal interest rate in the first 3 years.

In addition, if customers buy a car to register for business services on the Green SM Platform, the preferential interest rate support from VinFast and the bank will be 4%/year for the first 3 years. At the same time, drivers will receive a fixed revenue share of 90% from GSM within 3 years. This incentive will be applied simultaneously with other policies of VinFast such as Strong Vietnamese Spirit - For the Green Future 3 (4% discount on the listed price), or Collect Gas - Exchange Electricity with incentives up to 100 million VND.

Buying an electric motorbike with permanent or temporary residence in Hanoi, VinFast and its financial partners will bring customers the opportunity to own a motorbike immediately with 0 VND of counterpart capital. Specifically, if buying a motorbike to operate on the Green SM Platform, VinFast will immediately give customers 10% of the motorbike price. The remaining 90%, customers can borrow to buy a motorbike in installments within a maximum of 3 years with the guarantee of GSM. Thus, customers do not need to spend the initial counterpart capital but can receive the motorbike immediately with only 0 VND.

If buying an electric motorbike to serve other personal needs, customers in the capital only need to pay 10% of the vehicle price. VinFast will give customers 10%, the remaining 80% customers can borrow to pay in installments within a maximum of 3 years. In particular, from July 24 to October 24, 2025, customers buying VinFast electric motorbikes with permanent or temporary residence in Hanoi will immediately receive 100% of the registration fee.

Incentives from both VinFast and banking partners will become a strong support, helping the people of the capital accelerate green transformation, soon completing the goals of Directive 20 and other sustainable development goals.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Mr. Le Viet Duc - Director of Retail Division of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), said that the current development strategy of Vietinbank and many credit institutions is clearly defined according to ESG standards (Environment - Society - Governance).

Therefore, the response and cooperation of 12 large banks and financial institutions today, together with companies in the Vingroup green ecosystem, is a testament to the strategic vision and consensus of the business community with the common goals of the country.

To facilitate people to easily switch to electric vehicles, in addition to attractive financial solutions, from July 29, 2025, VinFast and its partners will organize a series of events "Green Festival: Collect gasoline cars - Upgrade to green cars" in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and provinces across the country. Customers who are using cars and motorbikes with internal combustion engines can bring their cars to the event for valuation and resale with quick and transparent procedures, and at the same time switch to electric vehicles to enjoy attractive incentives. The program is also deployed simultaneously at authorized VinFast distributors nationwide.
