Why did many pedagogical students suddenly have an additional 127 million VND in their accounts?

(Dan Tri) - Many students studying pedagogy (teacher training) in Ho Chi Minh City received more than 127 million VND in their accounts.

In recent days, many students studying pedagogy (teacher training) in Ho Chi Minh City have received more than 127 million VND.

This is the amount of living allowance refunded by the training facility for local pedagogical students in Ho Chi Minh City, up to more than 127 million VND/person.

This support policy is implemented according to Decree 116/2020 of the Government on supporting tuition fees and living expenses for pedagogical students in the form of training by assignment and order.

It is known that in this round of receiving support money, more than 600 pedagogical students studying at two schools, Saigon University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, were received.

These students were admitted to university in 2021 and are the first class to apply for support policies under Decree 116/2020 of the Government.

The transferred amount includes two amounts: tuition and living expenses for 35 months (7 semesters) that students enrolled in 2021 studied under the assignment and order training method.

Of which, tuition fees are refunded to the training institution, and living expenses are refunded to the student.

In addition, any school that temporarily collects tuition fees from students will also receive a refund of the amount paid during this period.

According to Decree 116/2020 of the Government, pedagogical students are currently trained in 3 categories, including training according to social needs; training by assignment, ordering or bidding; and free training, not registered to enjoy policies.

Students in the first two categories are entitled to a tuition-free policy and are supported with a living allowance of VND3.63 million/month, for no more than 10 months per academic year. Students who are independent and do not register for the policy must cover their own tuition and living expenses.

Pedagogical students who have benefited from the policy will have to reimburse the cost if they do not work inthe education sector after 2 years of graduation; do not work for a minimum period of time equal to twice the training period from the date of recruitment; students transfer to another training sector, voluntarily drop out of school, do not complete the training program or are disciplined and forced to drop out of school.
