Speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters at noon on June 6, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation (EVNHCMC) said that the corporation had previously established a plan to maintain priority power supply in Ho Chi Minh City to serve the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

Units under the Corporation have made plans to ensure electricity for 158 locations holding the 10th grade entrance exam, including equipping 166 backup generators (of which the electricity department installed 161 generators).

In addition, Saigon Electricity Company has made a plan to keep electricity for priority purposes for the exam question making and printing points for grade 10 entrance exams from May 30 to June 7; exam marking points from June 8 to 20; and re-examination marking points from June 25 to 29.

Always ensure electricity for 158 locations holding 10th grade entrance exams in Ho Chi Minh City

According to EVNHCMC, its affiliated units have prepared enough manpower, materials, equipment, and means to be ready to promptly handle incidents (if any). Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation and its affiliated units have made a list of leaders on duty, reinforcement on duty, generator operating duty, and 24/7 electrical repair and operation duty on June 6 and 7 to serve the exam.

At noon on June 6, when he was present at the exam site of Chanh Hung Secondary School, Mr. Duong Van Dan, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 8, said that up to this point, the whole district had 3,360 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam out of a total of 3,364 candidates; 4 absent students all had reasons: 1 student registered for admission in Bac Lieu , the remaining 3 students had their families register for vocational training. The situation at the exam sites in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City is all well guaranteed.

Mr. Dan added that he asked the candidates their feelings about the essay topic "Letting thoughts be expressed in words" after finishing today's exam. The candidates all said that the essay topic was suitable, practical, close to the candidates, and related to life. The knowledge in the exam is also taught by teachers in school, so students can apply it well in the exam.

On the afternoon of June 6, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City quickly informed the press of the figures after the first day of the exam: This year, Ho Chi Minh City has 77,294 quotas for grade 10 through the grade 10 entrance exam at 114 high schools across the city, with 96,334 candidates registered to take the exam.

This morning, the literature exam had 375 absent candidates. This afternoon, the foreign language exam had 383 absent candidates.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has arranged 158 exam sites for grade 10 (147 regular exam sites and 11 specialized exam sites), with 4,102 exam rooms.
