During this support period, the Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals has closely coordinated with the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City in proactively searching, connecting and providing essential vaccine and biological sources, meeting the urgent needs of the locality.

Following the recent storms and floods, Gia Lai province has recorded many areas affected by flooding, landslides and accidents related to the recovery process. People in the affected areas and rescue forces face the risk of injury, wound contamination, and increased risk of contracting tetanus, a dangerous disease that can lead to death if not vaccinated in time.

The addition of tetanus and diphtheria vaccines and tetanus antitoxin serum helps the Gia Lai health sector ensure timely treatment of injuries in the post-storm and flood period; protect people in severely damaged areas with difficult access to medical services; and enhance the safety of frontline forces such as rescuers, military, police, and medical staff in the process of supporting people.

In addition, the addition of tetanus and diphtheria vaccines and tetanus antitoxin serum also helps proactively prevent tetanus in the context of increased risk after natural disasters and spread the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the health sector towards the community.
