Staff of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology collected samples of adult mosquitoes and Aedes larvae that cause disease in Phan Thiet ward.
According to the report of the provincial Center for Disease Control, from the beginning of the year to the end of May 22, the whole province recorded 3 cases of dengue fever. The localities with cases recorded were Tuyen Quang city with 1 case, Ham Yen district with 1 case and Son Duong with 1 case.
Through field inspection, the working group of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Provincial Center for Disease Control collected many samples of adult mosquitoes and Aedes larvae that cause disease, including two disease-transmitting vectors: Aedes aegypti (main vector) and Aedes Albopictus (secondary vector). The larvae samples were collected mainly from households with aquatic plants, water containers, and waste that are favorable for mosquitoes to lay eggs.
Through the actual inspection process, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Provincial Center for Disease Control requested local authorities to continue to promote propaganda so that people actively implement disease prevention measures for individuals and the community; mobilize departments, branches and organizations to thoroughly handle the environment. Households clean their houses, turn over unnecessary water containers with the motto "No mosquito larvae, no dengue fever"; cooperate and support epidemiological investigations of cases related to dengue fever cases.
