Vietnam - India promote innovation cooperation

According to a VNA correspondent in New Delhi, the Vietnam-India Innovation Gateway Bootcamp was held at the NASSCOM Center of Excellence (CoE) in Gurugram city, Haryana state, India, marking a new step forward in innovation cooperation between the two countries.

The event took place on November 10 as part of a program to connect the two countries' technology ecosystems, with the participation of representatives of government agencies, experts and many startups.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Bui Trung Thuong - Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in India - emphasized that the Vietnam - India relationship is shifting from traditional cooperation to cooperation based on innovation, technology and digital transformation. He assessed the “Innovation Gateway” initiative as an important platform to help Vietnamese startups access India’s dynamic startup ecosystem and expand market opportunities.

The day’s sessions focused on sharing experiences in developing technology ecosystems, collaborative research and development, commercialization of innovations and business connectivity. The NASSCOM CoE representative presented on the Indian technology ecosystem, highlighting the role of centers of excellence in business-academia linkages and supporting DeepTech, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0.

Advisors and experts from Vietnam, including Ms. Nguyen Bao Thuy from the National Startup Support Center (NSSC), Mr. Chu Quang Thai - Chairman of the National Innovation and Startup Council and Mr. Hoang Hong Minh (CEO of Chung Xe Joint Stock Company), shared about the national innovation strategy, cross-border cooperation opportunities and orientation for DeepTech development in Vietnam. Startups from both countries participated in two rounds of in-depth consulting on product development, business expansion and building a technology pilot cooperation model.

At the end of the event, businesses appreciated the opportunity to directly access experts, support policies and the Indian technology ecosystem, and proposed to organize more training programs in priority areas such as HealthTech and AgriTech. The event was assessed to have achieved the goal of expanding Vietnam-India innovation cooperation and laying the foundation for the next phase of cooperation.
