The world logistics passport is designed to facilitate trade flows, said Abdulla Alsuwaidi, Director of Hubs and Global Partners at WLP.
The program is selecting partners to remove trade barriers and aim to increase diversified imports and exports between logistics and trade centers (Hubs).
WLP has partners in 29 Hubs of the WLP network worldwide. Vietnam is added to the list of regional logistics and trade hubs with the participation of more than 100 Vietnamese logistics enterprises.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuyen, representative of WLP in Vietnam, by participating in the initiative, businesses can save costs and time for customs clearance, access new markets, diversify products and increase market share for key export products.
"With an ecosystem of partners in the supply chain (such as management agencies, industry associations, logistics enterprises, banks, seaports, etc.), the specific goal is to create a large flow of goods, forming a key global supply chain," Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuyen emphasized.
Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Director of the Asia - Africa Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that Vietnam is currently one of the top 20 trading countries in the world, with import-export turnover in 2022 reaching nearly 735 billion USD. Vietnam participates in 16 trade agreements, ranking 11th out of 50 emerging logistics markets globally. Vietnam has about 30,000 enterprises operating in the logistics sector, of which more than 5,000 enterprises operate in international logistics; helping to form large and medium-sized logistics centers.
The UAE is currently Vietnam’s largest export market in the Middle East. Through the UAE, Vietnam’s export goods have the opportunity to reach many countries in the region. Effective cooperation with the UAE in the field of logistics will contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two sides, with the Middle East and other countries in the world.
Also at the conference, a cooperation agreement signing ceremony took place between WLP and Vietnamese partners participating in the program.
