Within the framework of the 11th World Summit on InnovativeEducation (WISE 11) held in Doha, Qatar, a special discussion session on Youth Empowerment in Climate Change Education, a case study from Vietnam, took place.
Here, representatives of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , ActionAid and students with outstanding initiatives shared and answered questions from international delegates about Vietnam's models and methods in raising awareness and action to adapt to climate change for young people.
Along with the attention of the State, the education sector, the Youth Union and international non- governmental organizations have also made efforts to implement many programs and projects in this field.
Notably, the project builds leadership capacity for the young generation of Vietnam to become global citizens with the goal of bringing 14,000 young people to access and actively participate in implementing sustainable development goals on environment, climate change and the environment.
This is the first time WISE has organized a panel discussion dedicated to a country that is participating for the first time. On the sidelines of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation also had meetings with leaders of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, visited the education city, and some training facilities in Doha...
"Vietnam has a lot of experience in developing education for young people that we can learn from," said Mr. Ibrahim Salem Il Naimi, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, adding that " Qatar's education story can also provide more reference information for you."
