The four athletes representing the Vietnamese swimming team competing at the 2025 World Swimming Championship include Nguyen Huy Hoang, Pham Thanh Bao, Nguyen Quang Thuan and Vo Thi My Tien.
Nguyen Huy Hoang competed in his specialty, the men's 1,500-meter freestyle. Pham Thanh Bao competed in the men's 200-meter breaststroke, while Nguyen Quang Thuan participated in the 400-meter individual medley. The only female athlete of the Vietnamese swimming team - Vo Thi My Tien participated in the women's 200-meter individual medley.
My Tien was the first person to represent the Vietnamese swimming team in this tournament. She competed with opponents from Thailand, Hong Kong (China), Guatemala, Peru, Maldives, Botswana and Papua New Guinea. The female swimmer born in 2005 surpassed her opponents to win with a time of 2 minutes 16 seconds 96.
However, this event has a total of 4 qualifying rounds. According to the rankings, My Tien only ranked 30/38 so she did not qualify for the next round.
The 2025 World Swimming Championships is the first international tournament of the year for the Vietnamese swimming team. This is an important opportunity for athletes to gain experience, improve their professional skills and prepare for upcoming major competitions such as the 33rd SEA Games, Asiad and Olympics.
