On December 24, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received Australian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski on the occasion of the end of his term of office.
At the reception, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated and highly appreciated the Ambassador's outstanding contributions during his term in Vietnam, especially in upgrading the Vietnam - Australia relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister appreciated the Ambassador's active coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries and sectors of Vietnam to successfully arrange visits by senior leaders of the two countries, organize many meaningful events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Australia diplomatic relations (1973 - 2023), strongly promote cooperation areas, as well as enhance exchanges between the people and localities of the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the two sides increase information sharing and consultation through bilateral dialogue mechanisms and multilateral forums, actively implement the Action Program for the period 2024 - 2027, including promoting trade - investment, education, labor cooperation, and expanding research cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, energy, and green growth. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister suggested that Australia continue to support human resource training for Vietnam, helping Vietnam improve its capacity in emerging industries such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski sincerely thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for their effective support, helping the Ambassador to fulfill his mission.
