Vietnam in top 5 destinations for Russian tourists

The number of Russians who will go on vacation abroad during the long holidays in May will increase by 30% compared to 2024, said Artur Muradyan, Vice President of the Russian Association of Tour Operators. This increase in sales is due to the impact of the ruble appreciation and the expansion of flight programs to popular countries as well as the opening of direct flights to Vietnam.

According to the report of Russian travel agencies, the top 5 destinations for foreign holidays from April 28 to May 12 by sales market share were: Turkey (45%), Egypt (20%), UAE (11%), Thailand (5.5%), Vietnam (4%). The association also said that Maldives, Abkhazia, China, Belarus, Georgia, Uzbekistan and international cruises were also in high demand.

"Vietnam is in the top 5 leading new mass destinations abroad in the Russian market. Air transport services to Nha Trang are opened with travel companies: Anex, Pegas Touristik, Coral Travel, Intourist, Fun&Sun, from a total of 14 cities in Russia," Mr. Artur emphasized.

Notably, about 80% of foreign tours for the May holidays from travel agencies that are members of the Association of Russian Tour Operators have already been implemented.

According to the report of the Association of Russian Tour Operators, the time tourists book tours to Türkiye, UAE, Egypt is from 6-8 nights and to Southeast Asian countries is from 10-12 nights.

Average holiday costs in Türkiye and the UAE have increased by 10-20%, in Thailand they have decreased by 15% and in Egypt they remain at 2024 levels.
