The cooperation agreement between the two parties focuses on three pillars:
Firstly, LAEP and JUIDA will collaborate to share experiences in building institutions, legal frameworks, and international standards for the UAV and intelligent transportation sectors. LAEP aims to learn from the management and operational models that Japan has successfully implemented.
Secondly, it aims to promote business connections, creating conditions for businesses from both countries to interact, seek business cooperation opportunities, develop products, and expand markets.
Thirdly, the two sides will cooperate in training and developing human resources, especially in the areas of UAV operation and coordination, new technologies, and management according to international standards, thereby transferring experience and systematic training processes from Japan to Vietnam.
LAEP Chairman Nguyen Van Khoa emphasized that both sides should strengthen information exchange and mutual support in building a legal framework and standards for the UAV industry in Vietnam, promoting connections between Vietnamese technology companies and Japanese partners. Vietnam has a great advantage in its young, dynamic workforce that quickly adapts to new technologies, while Japan has strengths in standards, processes, and practical implementation experience. This combination will contribute to enhancing national competitiveness, promoting a new generation transportation ecosystem, and deepening Vietnam-Japan technology cooperation in the future.
JUIDA's representative, President Shinji Suzuki, stated: "Established in 2014, the association is one of the pioneering organizations in UAVs and drones in Japan. JUIDA has been deeply involved in the development of institutional frameworks, standards, and operational guidelines for drones, and has developed a network of over 200 training schools in Japan and other regions. The association also plays a crucial role in training human resources for UAV operation, organizing training programs and specialized exhibitions such as the annual Japan Drone Exhibition, attracting significant attention from the international technology community. JUIDA has signed more than 44 memoranda of understanding with partners in many countries, contributing to the promotion of international standardization, including ISO standards related to UAVs and next-generation logistics."
