Accordingly, the role of the UN General Assembly in peace and security issues needs to be enhanced in accordance with the UN Charter, and the relationship between the General Assembly and other key UN bodies, including the UN Security Council, should be strengthened. In addition, it is important to ensure the principle of transparency and inclusiveness in activities, including the selection and appointment of the UN Secretary-General.
The deliberations of the UN General Assembly should produce concrete and actionable results, with a medium and long-term perspective, that meet the interests and aspirations of Member States. In particular, the upcoming discussions in preparation for the Future Summit and other processes should focus not only on solutions but also on how to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
At the 78th Session, member states will continue to discuss this topic to continue to seek and implement measures to strengthen the activities of the United Nations General Assembly.
