Vietnam and the Philippines strengthen defense cooperation, agree to promote many key areas

Vietnam and the Philippines affirmed to strengthen defense cooperation, expand coordination in many fields and maintain close consultation within the ASEAN framework, towards increasingly substantive relations.

On the afternoon of November 26 in Hanoi , Vietnam and the Philippines held a high-level meeting and the 7th Defense Policy Dialogue.

The two sides highly appreciated cooperation in recent times, agreed to increase delegation exchanges, promote existing mechanisms and expand cooperation in training, exchange of officers, military medicine, logistics, defense industry, cyber security, search and rescue and United Nations peacekeeping .

The two countries also pledged to closely coordinate at ASEAN military and defense forums, towards increasingly substantive and effective relations./.
