Vietnam enters favorable group at Asian futsal tournament

Accordingly, the Vietnamese futsal team is in Group D with South Korea, Nepal and host Mongolia. Among the three opponents in the group, South Korea is considered the biggest obstacle for the Vietnamese futsal team.

However, in the 2022 Asian Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese team was in the same group with the Korean team and won convincingly 5-1, thereby entering the quarterfinals with Japan. Therefore, with its current strength, coach Diego Giustozzi's team can completely aim for the number 1 position in the race in this group.

Vietnam futsal team once won big against Korea

There are a total of 31 teams participating in the 2024 Asian Futsal Qualifiers, divided into 8 groups (1 group of 3 teams, 7 groups of 4 teams) competing at centralized locations (8 host countries). The 8 teams that win each group and the 7 runners-up with the best results will compete with the host (not yet determined) in the finals.

The qualifying round will take place from October 7 to October 11, 2023. During the preparation process, the Vietnamese futsal team is expected to have a friendly match at level "A" next September. Not long ago, the Vietnamese futsal team also had a useful training trip to South America. Here, coach Giustozzi's team had 5 friendly matches with very high-quality opponents, against Paraguay (3 matches) and Argentina (2 matches). Both opponents have superior skills and class, which has helped the Vietnamese futsal team improve their fighting spirit as well as their expertise.

After this training trip, the players of the Vietnamese futsal team returned to their clubs to practice before competing in the second leg of the 2023 national futsal championship, which will begin on June 28.
