Within the framework of the Vietnam-UAE Business Dialogue held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates - UAE), Vietnam Airlines signed a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two of the world's leading airlines, Etihad Airways and Emirates.

This event marks an important step in expanding Vietnam Airlines' cooperation network with countries in the Middle East, contributing to promoting trade, tourism connection and economic development between Vietnam and the UAE.
Under the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking delegation, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, on behalf of the airline, presented memorandums of understanding for cooperation to Etihad Airways and Emirates.
Vietnam Airlines is the national airline of Vietnam, established in 1993. With a modern fleet of more than 100 aircraft, the airline provides air transport services on nearly 100 domestic and international routes, connecting to 1,150 global destinations in its flight network. Global passengers love Vietnam Airlines' services for their safety, punctuality, and world-class service quality, imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity. Vietnam Airlines was honored as a "5-star international airline" by The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).
Under the memorandum of understanding, Vietnam Airlines and Etihad Airways will develop bilateral relations in both passenger and cargo sectors to enhance connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Vietnam, helping to expand the flight network of both airlines.
The two sides will also explore cooperation in developing frequent flyer programs between Lotusmiles and Etihad Guest, as well as cooperation in ground services, maintenance, supplies and engineering. In addition, Vietnam Airlines and Etihad will evaluate opportunities for cooperation in cargo transportation, marketing and communications; and share experiences in information technology related to digital transformation, e-commerce, big data and cybersecurity.
Emirates and Etihad are the two airlines of the UAE, a federation consisting of seven emirates, most notably Abu Dhabi (the capital) and Dubai (the largest commercial and tourist hub).
Emirates was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Dubai.
Etihad Airways was founded in 2003, headquartered in Abu Dhabi.
These are all prestigious global airlines, known for their high-quality services and extensive international flight networks.
For Emirates, Vietnam Airlines will strengthen cooperation on routes between Vietnam and the UAE as well as to transit points; cooperation in cargo services; technical and maintenance services; training, experience sharing to develop human resources and knowledge exchange between the two airlines.
These cooperations will help promote the strengths of each side, improve the quality of transportation services and increase the efficiency of airlines. In addition, the cooperation also contributes to promoting trade between Vietnam and the UAE, opening up many development opportunities in the aviation sector and related industries of the two countries.
