To meet the increased travel demand during the Lunar New Year 2025, Vietnam Airlines will receive three new aircraft this December, including one Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and two Airbus A320neo aircraft. The three newly received aircraft will provide more than 100,000 seats for the peak season of the Lunar New Year 2025.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines received an A320neo with registration number VN-A515 on December 7 and a Boeing 787-10 with registration number VN-A877 on December 8. It is expected that at the end of December, the airline will continue to receive another Airbus A320neo with registration number VN-A514.

The three new aircraft bring the airline’s total fleet to 103 this year, including 31 wide-body aircraft (Boeing 787-9, Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350).

The Boeing 787-10 is one of the largest aircraft in the Boeing 787 family. With a modern design and fuel-efficient engines, the Boeing 787-10 not only provides a comfortable and convenient flight experience for passengers but also reduces operating costs and environmental impact. Vietnam Airlines is currently the only Vietnamese airline operating this wide-body aircraft.

Vietnam Airlines' Airbus A320neo aircraft are equipped with new generation engines, helping to save more than 16% fuel consumption, reduce 75% noise and reduce about 50% toxic emissions compared to previous generation engines.

The newly received Boeing 787-10 will be operated mainly on domestic and Northeast Asia routes, while the Airbus A320neo aircraft will only serve on domestic routes.

Adding more aircraft at the end of the year not only helps Vietnam Airlines promptly meet people's travel needs, but also affirms its commitment to improving service quality, bringing a comfortable and modern experience to passengers.

Previously, Vietnam Airlines had opened early sales of 2.15 million seats, equivalent to more than 11,000 flights on the entire domestic flight network to serve the demand for Tet tickets of passengers. The increased flights focused on routes serving the needs of family reunions and spring travel during Tet such as between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Vinh; between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Hai Phong, Hue, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Chu Lai, Dong Hoi, Vinh...
