Today, June 9, VinUni University officially announced its phase 2 development acceleration strategy with the goal of becoming one of the 100 best universities in the world.
The strategy focuses on two pillars: developing academic and research infrastructure and upgrading the academic workforce to international standards. The funding source for the strategy is VND 9,300 billion , invested by Vingroup .

VinUni will launch the "VinUni 500" program, selecting 500 elite global scientists and lecturers, especially Vietnamese scientists working abroad.
The list of invited candidates includes: 10 international scientific directors; 200 lecturers and researchers with prestigious publications; 200 postdoctoral scholars and 100 affiliated lecturers.
To recruit scholars, VinUni will apply a remuneration policy equivalent to that of the world's best universities, with a personal career development fund of up to 150 million VND per year and a research start-up fund (seed funding) of up to 6 billion VND for each outstanding scientist.
In addition to the goal of improving the quality of research and teaching for students of the "VinUni 500" program It plays a role in connecting the Vietnamese scholar network with the overseas Vietnamese scholar network and scholars from the VinFuture Prize to create a breakthrough momentum for substantive and impactful research cooperation activities.
Regarding infrastructure development, Vingroup is expected to invest VND1,500 billion in VinUni to expand the campus, build lecture halls, dormitories, sports areas and modern laboratory systems. The training scale will increase from 1,500 to 5,000 students, with nearly 50% being postgraduate students - the core force for the scientific research ecosystem.
In phase 2, VinUni identifies 5 strategic research areas, including: AI and Robotics, medicine and health technology, smart cities and environment, big data - high performance computing, policy and sustainable development.
