Associate Professor, PhD Pham Van Tinh was born in 1954 in Nam Dinh province. Throughout his research and teaching career, he has made many great contributions to Vietnamese and linguistics in general, especially in the study of Vietnamese life and the language of young people.

Associate Professor, PhD Pham Van Tinh is the author of dozens of valuable books, such as: Omission and ellipsis in Vietnamese (2002), Vietnamese from life (2004), Vietnamese: From words to meanings (2004), Stories from words to life (2019), Interpretation of folk songs, idioms, and proverbs (2013)... His research has made an important contribution to preserving and promoting the beauty and identity of the Vietnamese language.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Tinh is also known as a prestigious advisor for many language television programs, especially the program "King of Vietnamese Language" - where he brings academia closer to the public through simple, easy-to-understand, and humane sharing.

With Bac Giang Newspaper, he has been a particularly close collaborator for many years. For many consecutive years, he has been the person who writes the column "Stories of the past - Reflections of the present" in Bac Giang Newspaper at the end of the month.
