Nearly 500 reporters and technicians from 191 domestic press agencies participated in the press coverage of the 13th National Party Congress; more than 60 reporters and editors from 26 foreign news agencies and newspapers came to work directly; and nearly 100 reporters from 84 foreign news agencies and newspapers worked online, following and reporting on the congress.
The XIII Congress Press Center is located on the 3rd floor of the National Convention Center where the congress is taking place, with full facilities and modern equipment, meeting the requirements of 500 journalists working. Our impression when working at the XIII Congress Press Center is that the center is very professionally and modernly organized.
During the reporting process, the XIII Congress Press Center supported and facilitated the provision of information and documents for reporters and editors of domestic and foreign press agencies to monitor and report on the congress in a timely and accurate manner.
The leaders of the XIII Congress Press Center always accompany, support and orient propaganda, and answer questions about the press's concerns. Due to the large number of reporters working, not everyone is allowed to enter the hall to work.
To ensure that all reporters have access to images from the congress, the XIII Congress Press Center issued event cards to a number of major domestic press agencies working at the hall, promptly providing images and links to a website dedicated to the press working at the XIII Congress of the Party for exploitation and use. The activities of delegates attending the congress were broadcast on a large screen located at the Press Center for reporters to follow and report.
When reporters request to interview delegates, the Press Center leader receives the question and the person requested to be interviewed, then contacts the organizing committee to request that the delegation send a representative to answer at the Press Center area during the congress's break between working sessions.
The pressure to work at the important political event of the Party's national congress is enormous, not only reporting promptly and accurately about the congress, but also spreading the spirit of the congress, the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous country, urging journalists to make every effort to have quality news and articles sent to the agency as quickly as possible.

A memorable memory was that on the third working day of the congress, COVID-19 broke out in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces and spread to the capital Hanoi . The Central Committee both directed the congress and urgently deployed anti-epidemic measures, meeting day and night.
The press also worked tirelessly to follow the event. The XIII Congress's schedule runs from 8am to 5pm every day, but the event is constantly changing. Journalists must arrive early in the morning to check security, get tested for COVID-19, and then work all day, including the day of the congress when they worked on press personnel, waiting until after 11pm to have information to send to the editorial office. The working atmosphere of reporters and editors of press agencies at the XIII Congress was very urgent and serious.
This is the first time I have had the honor of working at a particularly important event of the Party and the country, so I am very proud and always try my best to convey information as quickly, promptly and accurately as possible about the activities of the Quang Tri Provincial Party delegation at the congress.
Working at a major national event has a lot of pressure, but all the journalists are excited, united and help each other to share information and send images to the agency as quickly and accurately as possible.
For many of us, being able to work as journalists at the 13th National Party Congress is both an honor and a great responsibility, and a memorable experience in journalism.

Immediately after the closing ceremony of the 13th National Party Congress, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong held a press conference at the 13th National Party Congress Press Center. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong shared that he has worked in journalism for nearly 30 years and knows about journalism, the mindset of journalists, and the methods and ways of working of journalists.
As a delegate attending the congress, I would like to meet, thank and congratulate the press for reporting very promptly, very quickly, and importantly accurately and well. The people are very excited.
The General Secretary also expressed his belief that after the congress, the press will inspire the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people with the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress to create new strength for the Vietnamese people, a new step forward for our country to develop strongly and prosperously, standing shoulder to shoulder with other countries in the world as Uncle Ho wished.
The General Secretary's sincere recognition and affirmation of the important contribution of the press to the success of the 13th National Party Congress made us very moved and proud; at the same time, it is a special source of spiritual encouragement for journalists to continue to maintain their passion for the profession, constantly strive to fulfill their tasks well, and contribute to the glorious mission of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.
