At the end of the morning session, VN-Index increased by 2.75 points to 1,670.73 points. Trading volume reached more than 424 million shares, equivalent to more than 12,507 billion VND. The entire floor recorded 87 stocks increasing in price, 210 stocks decreasing and 49 stocks remaining unchanged.
On the HNX floor, the HNX-Index decreased by 1.31 points to 259.91 points with a trading volume of more than 30.9 million shares, equivalent to VND657.8 billion. Trading was diversified with 51 codes increasing, 61 codes decreasing and 57 codes remaining unchanged. The UPCOM-Index increased by 0.27 points to 119.2 points; the volume was more than 17.9 million shares, equivalent to VND277.8 billion, with 93 codes increasing and 82 codes decreasing.
The VN30 basket also showed weakness with only 7 stocks increasing, while 20 stocks decreased and 3 stocks remained unchanged. VJC increased by 3.66% and VIC increased by 2.88%, becoming the two stocks that supported the market the most. On the contrary, many stocks decreased deeply such as SSI decreased by 3.63%, while VPB, SSB, DGC, CTG, BCM,ACB ... all decreased by more than 1%.
Red spread in the banking group as 18 stocks decreased in price, while only 4 stocks increased. The securities group also performed negatively as the selling side dominated.
On the other hand, HAG attracted attention when it jumped more than 5.5%, becoming a bright spot in the essential consumer group amid the divergence. While large-cap stocks such as MSN, VNM or DBC, SBT, BAF, ANV... fell, many other stocks such as HNG, ANT, AFX, MML, SAB... remained green. Most of the remaining industry groups fluctuated between increases and decreases.
Foreign investors net sold more than 400 billion VND, focusing on SSI, VHM, VRE and VIC, while HDB was strongly net bought.
With a clear divergence and increased selling pressure in many key sectors, the market shows that cautious sentiment is dominant. Although the VN-Index still maintains green thanks to some leading stocks, the widespread red color shows that the risk of correction is still present in the coming sessions.
Therefore, analysts say investors need to maintain a reasonable proportion, monitor cash flow reactions in pillar groups and limit chasing purchases, while taking advantage of the adjustment period to restructure the portfolio more effectively.
