Weed Boxing is a controversial fighting event in Thailand because fighters are encouraged to smoke marijuana before jumping into the ring to fight. It is known that in Thailand, the use of recreational marijuana was legalized in June 2022, causing an explosion in consumption and people organized "Weed Boxing" events.

Ivan Parshikov attended the event and won. To celebrate his victory, he climbed a pillar in the stands to wave to the fans. But the incident happened when an electric current seemed to run straight through his body and he was unconscious for a second.

Parshikov's entire body went rigid before he fell to the outside canvas ring, his leg getting caught in the ropes in the process. The fighter was later examined by medical staff and doctors confirmed he had suffered no lasting damage.

The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, sparking heated debate.

Many people believe that this event did not meet safety standards. People also do not understand why there was water surrounding the ring, and exposed electrical equipment placed around the ring.
