Mr. Vu A Bang - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee welcomed Mr. Matt Jackson - UNFPA Representative.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang expressed his joy at welcoming Mr. Matt Jackson and members of the delegation to visit and work in the province. He briefly introduced to the delegation the geographical location, natural conditions, and socio-economic development situation of Dien Bien province, and emphasized that along with implementing socio-economic development tasks, Dien Bien province always pays attention to social security work, especially promoting gender equality and resolving gender-based violence. He hopes to continue receiving support from UNFPA for programs, activities, and pilot models in the locality, and at the same time commits to creating the best conditions and providing appropriate support in accordance with the law.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Matt Jackson - UNFPA Representative, thanked the province for the warm welcome. During this visit, the delegation will conduct a survey and develop a One-Stop Service Center to support women and girls who are victims of violence in Dien Bien province, with the goal of providing essential and comprehensive services on safe accommodation, medical care, psychological counseling, and legal support for women and girls who are victims of violence. The UNFPA delegation hopes to continue to receive the support and assistance of Dien Bien province to propose and coordinate the implementation of the project, and at the same time hopes to establish and strengthen a close coordination mechanism between the two sides in propaganda and guidance work so that victims of violence are protected and supported./.
