On August 31, Mr. Pham Van Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao Commune, Gia Lai Province, said that 45/131 patients suspected of being poisoned at the housewarming party had been discharged from the hospital, the rest were in stable health.
According to Mr. Phuong, the commune has compiled a list of all housewarming party attendees, including those who brought food home, to screen and encourage them to seek treatment. Medical centers have also mobilized specialized vehicles to take people for health check-ups.

"Those who do not have health insurance or whose families are in difficult circumstances will receive financial support from the commune for treatment to help people feel secure in their treatment. The commune will coordinate with donors to prepare meals for patients, ensuring food hygiene," said Mr. Phuong.
On the same morning, the Ia Hiao Commune Party Committee held a meeting and unexpectedly rewarded the Ayun Pa Medical Center, Phu Thien Medical Center, the Chrôh Pơnan Village Party Cell and 6 individuals for their outstanding achievements in treating victims suspected of food poisoning after a housewarming party in Chrôh Pơnan Village, Ia Hiao Commune.
Mr. Phuong said that the awarded groups and individuals were all heroes in rescuing the victims. They made important contributions from timely reporting to coordinating the handling, with the participation of the entire grassroots political system. Thanks to that, people's lives were protected.

As Dan Tri reported, at around 11am on August 28, Mr. K.D.'s family (residing in Chrôh Pơnan village, Ia Hiao commune) held a housewarming party and invited 220 people to attend.
After the housewarming party, 131 people were hospitalized with symptoms of stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Authorities suspect this was a case of food poisoning.
