Fire kills 3 in Hanoi: Big explosion causes ceiling to collapse

This comment was informed by the leader of Thanh Tri District Police ( Hanoi ) to Dan Tri reporter on the evening of October 26, after a fire broke out in the area, killing 3 people.

Initially, the police determined that the fire occurred at a temporary house with a corrugated iron roof, doing scrap collection business, in Van Dien village, Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district.

At the time of the fire, there were 4 people in the house, including: Mr. MVY (born in 1988, from Nam Dinh ); Ms. NTT (born in 1992; Mr. Y's wife); MTĐ. (born in 2012) and MBA (born in 2018, both children of Mr. Y. and Ms. T.).

The fire killed Ms. T. and her three children, while Mr. Y. was luckily rescued by the police.

"When approaching the scene, firefighters discovered Ms. T. dead on the bed, and her two sons dead in the bathroom," informed the leader of Thanh Tri District Police.

This person added that Mr. Y's family is in the scrap metal business, and in the house there is a hydraulic machine used to press all kinds of scrap.

Police initially determined that the machine may have pressed against a hairspray can, causing it to explode and ignite the gas tank, leading to the fire. However, the final cause of the incident is still being investigated, according to the leader of Thanh Tri District Police.

According to this person, because Mr. Y's family's house was temporary and had an unstable structure, when the big explosion occurred, the entire ceiling collapsed, crushing the victims. After the big explosion, fire broke out throughout the entire house, which was about 20 square meters wide.
