Mr. L.'s violations include: Changing business lines without notifying the authorities, providing food services without a Certificate of food safety eligibility and not posting prices.

In particular, the act of providing food services without a Certificate of food safety qualified facility is subject to a maximum fine of 12.5 million VND.

According to the report of Nha Trang Bay Management Board, by the end of 2024, Nha Trang Bay has 10 floating rafts with full licenses to operate food and beverage services, including 6 composite rafts and 4 floating rafts made of traditional materials.

Mr. Tran Minh Chien, Chairman of Nha Trang City People's Committee, assigned localities to coordinate with Nha Trang Bay Management Board to strengthen propaganda and inspection; require rafts without a food service business license to stop operating; rafts that are allowed to operate must sign a commitment to fully comply with relevant regulations to avoid similar incidents.

Previously, on the evening of May 2, a Facebook user posted on a travel group complaining about food prices in Nha Trang city.

Attached to the post is a bill from a floating restaurant in Nha Trang Bay.

The bill includes dishes such as: Boxfish, unit price 3.5 million VND/kg, quantity 0.5kg total price 1.75 million VND; squid, unit price 950,000 VND/kg, quantity 0.9kg total price 855,000 VND... The total bill for a meal for 2 people is nearly 2.8 million VND.

The raft owner in this case admitted to selling seafood at a higher price than normal, at a rate of 30% to "tip" the canoes that take customers to the restaurant. However, the raft owner also confirmed that he had agreed on a price with the customers before processing the boxfish into a dish.

After being accused of "overcharging" by a customer, the raft owner contacted the customer to refund 780,000 VND (equivalent to 30% of the price difference between the two dishes: coffin fish and squid).

Upon receiving the information, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, directed Nha Trang City People's Committee to urgently inspect the seafood raft that was accused of "overcharging" by tourists. If any violations are discovered, they must be strictly handled.
