Regarding the Bell 505 helicopter , registration number VN-8650 of the Northern Helicopter Company under the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (Army Corps 18) crashed on the sea of Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, on the evening of April 5, a quick report of the National Committee for Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue signed by Lieutenant General Doan Thai Duc, Chief of Office, said that at 6:30 p.m. on April 5, the Office received information from the duty officer of Army Corps 18 and the forces (Military Region 3, Navy, Border Guard) about the loss of contact of the Bell 505 aircraft, registration number VN-8650.

At 4:56 p.m. on April 5, a Bell 505 aircraft carrying 5 people (including pilot Colonel Chu Quang Minh and 4 passengers, Vietnamese nationality) took a sightseeing flight to Ha Long Bay. This was the 4th flight of the day.
Bell 505 helicopter lost contact with the command post at 17:06:20 at 2051'55"N - 10701'31"E (sea area of Gia Luan commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city).
Immediately after the helicopter crash, the Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue sent a telegram to the 18th Army Corps, the General Staff: Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Military Command of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh cities, Border Guard, to verify the incident, mobilize forces and means to participate in the search and rescue. At the same time, a working group led by Major General La Dai Phong, Deputy Chief of Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue, was sent to the scene to coordinate and direct the search for the missing victims.

The National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue also requested the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center to dispatch the SAR 411 ship to the scene to coordinate with other forces participating in the search and rescue. Along with that, the Border Guard of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh cities dispatched 34 officers and soldiers to participate in the search and rescue.
14 vehicles of the forces have also been mobilized to participate in the search and rescue. The following forces are mobilizing to the scene (1 ship, 2 boats and 2 diving teams of the Navy).
By 9:00 p.m., two bodies and some debris from the plane were recovered at the edge of Hon Dep Island (coordinates 205151.2 "N - 10701'13.4"E).
