At 9:15 AM on June 18th, the buying price of SJC gold bars was listed by businesses at around 117.6 million VND/ounce and the selling price at 119.6 million VND/ounce, remaining stable compared to yesterday morning.
Following the same "unchanged" trend, the price of 99.99% pure gold rings and jewelry was also traded at 113.7 million VND/ounce for buying and 116.2 million VND/ounce for selling, unchanged from yesterday.
Domestic gold prices have fluctuated within a narrow range in recent days, with little difference between gold trading businesses.
A notable development is that in the free market, the price of gold bars quoted by gold shops is even lower than that of gold bars offered by businesses and banks. Some gold shops are currently quoting SJC gold bars at around 118 million VND/ounce for buying and 119.3 million VND/ounce for selling.
Previously, the price of SJC gold bars on the free market was usually 1-2 million VND higher than the selling price at businesses and banks.
SJC gold bar prices remained stable this morning.
On the international market, gold prices continued to fluctuate sharply today. During the night and early this morning, gold prices briefly recovered to near $3,395 per ounce, but then fell back down immediately afterward.
As of 9:15 AM Vietnam time, the precious metal was trading at $3,375 per ounce, a further decrease of approximately $20 per ounce compared to yesterday. Over the past two days, the price of gold has lost a total of about $70 per ounce.
Gold prices fell amid a recovery in the US dollar after remaining at low levels for several weeks. The US dollar index (DXY) is currently at 98.7 points, up from 98.2 points in the previous session. Similarly, crude oil futures trading around $73.75 per barrel and 10-year US Treasury yields at approximately 4.4% are also putting pressure on gold prices.
Currently, the world gold price, converted according to the listed exchange rate, is approximately 106.8 million VND per tael.
