At 9:15 a.m. on June 18, the price of SJC gold bars listed by businesses was around 117.6 million VND/tael for buying and 119.6 million VND/tael for selling, stable compared to yesterday morning.
Following the "unmoving" trend, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold was also traded at 113.7 million VND/tael for buying and 116.2 million VND/tael for selling, unchanged from yesterday.
Domestic gold prices have fluctuated within a narrow range in recent days and there is not much difference between gold trading units.
A notable development is that in the free market, the price of gold bars quoted by gold shops is even lower than that of gold bars from businesses and banks. The price of SJC gold bars is being quoted by some gold shops at around 118 million VND/tael for buying and 119.3 million VND/tael for selling.
In the previous period, the price of SJC gold bars on the free market was often 1-2 million VND higher than the selling price in businesses and banks.
SJC gold bar price stable this morning
In the international market, gold prices continued to fluctuate strongly today. Last night and early this morning, gold prices recovered to nearly $3,395/ounce, but then fell back down shortly after.
At 9:15 a.m. Vietnam time, the precious metal was trading at $3,375 an ounce, down about $20 an ounce from yesterday. Over the past two days, the price of gold has lost a total of about $70 an ounce.
Gold prices fell as the US dollar recovered after remaining low for many weeks. The US dollar index (DXY) is currently at 98.7 points, up from 98.2 points in the previous session. Similarly, crude oil futures are trading around $73.75/barrel, and the US 10-year bond yield is around 4.4%, also putting pressure on gold prices.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 106.8 million VND/tael.
