(QNgTV)- Nearly 2 months after the incident of the embankment breaking at the Ngoc Hoi Solid Waste Treatment Complex (Quang Ngai), the basic repair work has been completed and the project is back in operation.

On the morning of September 20, the leader of the People's Committee of Bo Y commune, Quang Ngai province, said that after 2 months of the incident of the embankment breaking at the Ngoc Hoi Solid Waste Treatment Complex, the repair work has basically been completed and will continue to operate normally.

Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien said that the province has assigned specialized departments and the People's Committees of Sa Loong and Bo Y communes to continue monitoring and inspecting to ensure that the incident of the garbage pit embankment break is handled thoroughly, without affecting the lives and production of the people. At the same time, the government and organizations are required to strengthen propaganda and mobilization so that people in the affected areas can share their objective difficulties and agree with the support and compensation plan, and not let complaints arise for a long time.

The location of the dike break has been processed.

The Provincial People's Committee also directed specialized departments to support localities and investors in repairing works and overcoming environmental incidents. Coordinate with the Department of Construction to inspect and evaluate the quality of works after repair. In addition, the system of collecting, guiding and draining rainwater separately was added, the slope roof, HDPE waterproofing membrane, drainage ditches and rain collection pits were regularly maintained to avoid recurrence of incidents.

Ngoc Hoi Solid Waste Treatment Complex was approved in principle by the People's Committee of Kon Tum Province (old) in 2017, with a total investment capital of more than 49 billion VND and a scale of 6.8 hectares. The project was invested by the People's Committee of Ngoc Hoi District. After the establishment of a 2-level local government, the waste treatment area was managed and operated by the Project Management Board and Public Services of Bo Y Commune.
