Walcott explains why coach Arteta hired someone to pickpocket Arsenal players

The former Arsenal striker believes the aim behind introducing pickpockets is not only to make players more vigilant but also to teach them a valuable lesson about staying alert both on and off the pitch.

"That's what Arteta needs to do. He makes people think in a different way, now people will always be alert in the dressing room or anywhere. He always wants his players to be alert in every situation when playing.

"It was just a simple exercise and it worked. Now the players will have to be more vigilant in all aspects of their daily lives," said striker Walcott.

While playing for Arsenal, coach Mikel Arteta demonstrated his qualities and role as a leader. The former captain of the "Gunners" always knew how to encourage the fighting spirit of his teammates on the field as well as in the dressing room.

"He has real leadership ability, Arteta knows how to talk to the team and every time he locks us in the dressing room to discuss tactics I believe even more in Arteta's ability to become an excellent coach.

"He always tries something different and that's probably the most unusual thing I've seen from a player becoming a manager. But Arteta has been successful at what he does," said the former Arsenal striker.

Theo Walcott also believes that Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League this season are very high because the Gunners have stars in their squad and experience after two consecutive years of losing the championship to Man City.

Arsenal's opening win over Wolverhampton has further strengthened the "Gunners" fans' belief in winning the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal's next match will be a trip to Aston Villa in the second round of the Premier League. The match will take place at 11:30 p.m. on August 24 at Villa Park (Birmingham).
