Cam Lam Commune: Accompanying people in flood-affected areas

In order to promptly share the difficulties that people in Cam Lam commune and other localities are facing due to prolonged floods, from November 19 to now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lam commune has received thousands of gifts including necessities and cash, along with hundreds of volunteers contributing to overcoming the consequences caused by floods.

Prepare meals to send to flood-affected areas.

Faced with the urgent situation, the entire political system and people of Cam Lam commune, especially the military, police and local authorities, have resolutely and urgently supported people in vulnerable and flooded areas to safety, not allowing any people to be isolated, hungry or cold during this historic natural disaster. Up to now, the whole commune has relocated and evacuated more than 300 households with more than 1,300 people from deep flooded areas to shelters; organized reinforcement of canals, bridges, dams in the area, ensuring safety and lives for people.

Gathering relief goods to transport to heavily flooded areas.

At the call of the Party Committee, the government, and the Fatherland Front, up to now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lam commune has received 3,425 gifts, 923 boxes of water, 247 boxes of instant noodles, 149 boxes of milk, 78 boxes of cakes, 250 raincoats, 320kg of rice; 3,583 portions of rice, sticky rice, porridge and some other necessities such as eggs, mats, clothes, medicine... and more than 160 million VND in cash from organizations and individuals inside and outside the commune. With a spirit of urgency, the Cam Lam Commune Fatherland Front has proactively and promptly provided food, rice, drinking water and necessities to people in difficulty in the villages of Cuu Loi 3, Cu Hin, Vinh Thai, ensuring that no one in the commune will go hungry or cold under any circumstances.

Armed forces reinforce canals and dams during rainy and flood days.

In addition to the determination not to let any household go hungry or cold in natural disasters, Cam Lam commune also urgently provided food, rice, drinking water and necessary necessities to accompany other units. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune organized 32 delegations with 37 trips of vehicles to promptly visit and give relief gifts to people in flood-affected areas of 19 communes and wards in the province, including wards: Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang, Nam Khanh Vinh; communes: Dien Binh, Dien Lac, Dien Dien, Dien Lam, Dien An, Dien Tho, Dien Phuoc; Dong Dinh village - Dien Khanh commune; Yersin Hospital; Tropical Hospital; Khanh Hoa Provincial Oncology Hospital...

People are supported with drinking water.

The image of Cam Lam people, from the elderly, children, women, village front committees, women's associations, youth unions, religious establishments, "Zero-dong kitchens"... who did not mind the rain and wind to carry boxes of food, clothing, and necessities to the donation reception point, hoping to contribute a small part to help our compatriots in times of difficulty and disaster, made us feel moved and warm. Active activities on social platforms such as: Cam Lam Vitality, Cam Lam Today, Cam Lam Club; Cam Lam New Urban Area... have also contributed to spreading love, hope, and sharing of Cam Lam people to people in flooded areas. People contributed money, goods, labor, human resources, trucks carrying goods... mobilized all resources for relief work. Along with that is the urgency, closeness, and determination in the leadership of local Party committees and authorities; Armed forces, rescuers, volunteers, regardless of day or night, risked their lives to bring people out of flooded areas to safety; reinforced canals, embankments, and dams; and handed out practical gifts to people in need, showing that, no matter the circumstances, the spirit of solidarity, patriotism, mutual love, and helping each other of the people of Cam Lam is always present and noble.

With the achieved results, Cam Lam commune acknowledges and expresses deep gratitude to the people of Cam Lam commune, organizations and individuals inside and outside the commune who have made valuable contributions to help people in flooded localities overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
